Effective 2026-10-28
1. What this policy covers
This policy applies to everything you, your users and anyone with access to your servers do on HippoWebHosting Services. You are responsible for your users' activity, including members of any community, client or game you host.
2. What is not allowed
- Illegal activity or content, including material that infringes copyright or trademark rights.
- Child sexual abuse material. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and to law enforcement, and end the Service.
- Spam. Sending unsolicited bulk email, or hosting sites advertised through it. Mail you send must comply with CAN-SPAM and similar laws.
- Phishing, malware and botnets. Distributing malware, running botnet command and control, or impersonating another organization.
- Unauthorized attacks and scanning. Attacking, scanning or probing systems you do not own or have written permission to test, including denial-of-service attacks.
- Attack services and cheats. Running or selling booter, stresser or other denial-of-service services, or distributing cheats or exploits designed to take over other players' accounts or devices.
- Open relays and proxies. Running open proxies, open mail relays or open DNS resolvers that third parties can abuse.
- Cryptocurrency mining, unless we agree to it in writing before you order.
- Spoofing. Forging packet or email headers, or using IP addresses not assigned to you.
- Harassment. Content or activity that threatens or harasses people, or publishes their personal information to target them.
- Sanctions evasion. Providing services to people or places that the Terms of Service exclude.
2a. Paying in bitcoin does not change these rules
We take bitcoin only and ask for little personal information. That is for your privacy, not to shelter abuse. This policy applies in full, and in addition:
- No bulletproof hosting. We act on valid abuse reports, and we respond to valid legal process from US authorities. We do not ignore complaints because a customer paid in bitcoin.
- Tor exit relays, VPN and proxy services and bulk mail need our written agreement first. Tell us in the order request what you plan to run and how you will handle complaints about it.
- Tainted payments. We may refuse, or return to the sender, a payment that we reasonably believe comes from fraud, theft, ransomware or a sanctioned person, and end the related Service.
- More information when needed. If an abuse report, a payment problem or a legal obligation requires it, we may ask you for more information about yourself or your use of the Service before we continue providing it.
3. IP addresses
IPv4 addresses are assigned for a documented technical need and do not belong to you. Stop using them when your Service ends. Repeated abuse complaints about an address may lead us to reassign it, with notice where practical.
4. Reports and complaints
Report abuse using the abuse reporting page or by email to [email protected]. We forward valid reports to the customer and expect a response within 48 hours, or sooner where there is active harm. Copyright notices follow the Copyright Policy.
5. Enforcement
We decide in good faith whether conduct breaks this policy. Our response is scaled to the harm: a warning, a request to remove content, null-routing an IP address, suspension or termination. Where harm is ongoing, we may act first and tell you immediately afterward. Suspensions under this policy do not earn service credits.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as abuse patterns change. Material changes follow the notice rules in the Terms of Service.
